A year after his mother’s death, Pajtim returns to his childhood home to help his father Jeton, move out. Hoping to use the trip to finally tell Jeton about his boyfriend, he finds that his father has not accepted his mother’s passing and has gone down a conspiratorial path for answers.

Cast

Beejan Land

Beejan plays Pajtim, but previous to his role as Pajtim, Beejan played in Rock the Kasbah and recently was a cast member in the Broadway production of Kite Runner.

Musto Pelinkovicci

Musto plays Jeton, a veteran of the Kosovo War and father of two. Before playing Jeton, Musto has had roles in On the Rocks and Hunters.

About the director…

Ari Zeneli is a writer, filmmaker, and organizer from New York City. Where Our Mother Left Us came from growing up queer in an Albanian-American family and seeing the difficulties of Albanians growing old outside of their ancestral homes, away from the safety networks that previous generations once had, before fleeing from their homes.
